Since I am doing the ChaLEAN Extreme program and my 4th week of Burn phase ends on Saturday I have decided to do my weigh-in and pics on Sunday and then repeat after Push phase and Lean phase which are also 4 weeks each.
To be quite honest, I'm feeling a little lazy this week. My hip has been sore since my 10k so I
I did it last night!! I only had ONE piece of cake. I originally didn't do too bad on the pizza either putting me at 100cals over for the day (which to me is NOT a big deal)... but... a few hours later I ended up mindlessly eating two more pieces of pizza. In the end I was more like 600cal over for the day (hanging head in shame). I'm still proud about the cake though because cake is my biggest weakness.
I'm hoping that weigh-in and progress pics this weekend will help me re-group. Its not like I'm falling off the wagon or anything, I just feel like my enthusiasm isn't all there.
Now I have to decide if I want to keep monthly weigh-ins for another month, or go back to weekly... Thoughts?
Well... ;) My opinion on the monthly weigh-in is dependent on YOUR feelings on it. If you feel that you are losing your enthusiasm and "giving in" or whatever, then don't do it. However, this seems to be an isolated incident. A party or celebration is something that we will face because they are a part of life. When you are at your goal and on a maintenance level of caloric intake, you will have to balance your splurges with extra workouts OR just balance over a few days of less calories. Your other option would be to say... Ok I did an unplanned spike! Let's see what it does!
ReplyDeleteI think that as long as you are cognizant of relationship with food, you will be fine with the monthly weigh-ins. I like that you want to do it along with the phases in ChaLean. That sounds like a good measure for you in the effectiveness and result of each phase.
No matter what you do, Megan... You will never go back! You are on the right path and have the right mindset. Do not hang your head in shame at the extra pieces of pizza!!! Instead turn around and say that the next thing in your mouth will be intentional! ;)
You have GOT this!
I think you are totally right! I'll see how the next few days go and try to measure if its just a momentary thing or a fizzling kind of thing.
DeleteI agree with Danielle. When you weigh has to be your personal decision. For some people, the constant reminder of seeing the number on the scale keeps them motivated. For others, it can be a fast track to feeling defeated if they don't see the number they like.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you've been doing fantastic during this phase - and I think you'll be very happy when you see your progress on Sunday. If that boosts your motivation and enthusiasm again, you may see that keeping the scale at bay for a month is worth it.
Keep up the great work!!
